• Venture Hive will host Lincoln Labs' education reform hackathon on Friday in Miami.
• The free 24-hour hackathon will see students, teachers and education advocates work with the local engineering and startup community to develop solutions for secondary and higher education issues affecting the state's education system, and domestic and international education at large.
• Judging the $5,000 competition will be Richmond Global's Peter Kellner, the Technology Foundation of the Americas' Xavier Gonzalez, Take Stock in Children CEO Madeline Pumariega and the Miami Dade College School of Engineering's Miguel Alonso Jr.

Lincoln Labs brings free hackathons to cities nationwide, including San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago. This particular hackathon, however, is particularly important to partner and SendHub Co-Founder Garrett Johnson, who grew up in a low-income area of Tampa and calls Florida "ground zero for education reform." In addition to Friday's hackathon, Lincoln Labs is also holding a free, two-day virtual hackathon with $5,000 in prizes beginning Monday night.
