- The company also plans to offer no-cost resources and professional learning opportunities that include Curriculum Leadership Labs that address education's technological transformation, "Days of Discovery" curriculum themes, a more robust calendar of professional learning webinars, and a wider variety of lesson plans like the Espresso Coding Summer Camp.
Dive Insight:
While this move mainly impacts schools in the UK, it's still a big deal for Discovery Education. While the acquisition of Espresso gave Discovery a strong footing in the UK education market, branding Espresso under the discovery umbrella helps increase its name recognition abroad. Espresso was initially acquired to help Discovery boost the spread of digital textbooks, which have been a focus for the company with its Techbook line.
