This week on Education Dive, we take a look at a few of the higher ed institutions dealing with credit downgrades, as doled out by Moody's Investor Services. On the K-12 side of things, we'll have a cross-examination of the states ranked lowest in education by the Annie E. Casey Foundation's 2014 Kids Count report and the states with the highest poverty levels.
The firestorm surrounding a recent New York Times exposé of a botched sex assault case at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, as well as a scandal at the University of Texas involving two football players, isn't likely over — nor are the litany of other Title IX issues currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education. And we'll also have follow-up on how state funding in higher ed is up overall — and how federal lawmakers see that news.
