On Tuesday Google outdid themselves. The search engine surprised educators in Atlanta on Tuesday when they donated $340,000 to fund all of the Atlanta based teachers projects on Donors Choose. The flash funding bonanza will affect the classrooms of 356 Atlanta teachers and ultimately impact 38,775 students.
What sparked this massive giving to teachers? Well, National Teacher Appreciation Week of course!
The National Education Association (NEA) has deemed May 4-10 National Teacher Appreciation Week. While the week may be winding down, that doesn't mean it's not too late to show your teachers that you care and recognize all their hardwork.

Deals to Tell Your Teachers About
A.C. Moore: The arts and crafts store is giving teachers a 20% discount on all purchases. The deal last until Saturday May 10th, giving teachers some time to shop on the weekend.
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores: Until Saturday May 10th, teachers may pick up a free 2013-2014 school planner, as well as get 15% off their store purchase (then and anytime in the future) when they sign up for a Jo-Ann Teacher's Reward card.
Office Depot: When teachers sign up for an Office Depot's Star Teachers program they automatically get a 20% discount on their purchase. The program also comes with a number of awesome opportunities and events during Teacher Appreciation week. During the week Teachers can get a free gift with a purchase of $10 or more and a free breakfast on Saturday morning.
Michaels: The arts and crafts store gives teacher 15% off their purchase anytime, any day of the year.
Buca di Beppo: The chain Italian restaurant has a special deal for teachers from now until Friday May 9th. The restaurant is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m on all lunch entrees. Note: the timing does make it a bit difficult for teachers to actually get to and appreciate this one.
Barnes & Noble: The bookstore offers 20% off all books to be used in classrooms, also, anytime, any day of the year.
Banana Republic, J.Crew, Ann Taylor LOFT, Talbots, J. Jill, The Limited and Madewell offer 15% off entire purchases for teachers anytime, any day of the year as long as you have a teacher ID (same for students too!).
