The move was spurred by a budget deficit of $1.4 million. Other school districts also have the option of charging tuition. As more face budget cuts, this could become the norm. Haddonfield School District says it has generated about $400,000 on a tuition program.
"It's been a very successful program and there was really a big push for it several years ago. It has significantly increased our revenue," Haddonfield Superintendent of Schools Dr. Richard Perry told NJ.com
