
Eugene, OR – July 22, 2025 – Avant, a leader in language proficiency and learning solutions, today announced two strategic leadership appointments that demonstrate the company’s continued commitment to growth across domestic and international markets.
Genevieve Olvera has been named Vice President of Sales. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education sales and business development, having held senior roles at McGraw Hill, Data Recognition Corporation (DRC), and most recently EduSkills.
In her new role, Olvera will lead Avant’s sales organization, with a focus on deepening customer relationships, strengthening systems and processes, and expanding access to Avant’s growing portfolio of language proficiency tools and learning platforms.

As part of this transition, Sheila Bong has been appointed Vice President of Global Business Development. A co-founder of Avant and seasoned leader in international education markets, Bong will lead a newly expanded team focused on international growth and strategic collaborations.
