CodeHS, a leader in computer science education, and Science Olympiad, the premier team STEM competition, are partnering to expand computer science learning opportunities for middle and high school students nationwide. This collaboration aims to make computer science more accessible and integrated within Science Olympiad’s academic competitions.
This partnership highlights a shared commitment to fostering the next generation of STEM innovators through enriched educational experiences.
As part of the collaboration, a new Science Olympiad Code Craze trial event will be developed focused on computer science topics including coding, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and more. This event will be available to both middle and high school students. To support students and coaches in preparation for Science Olympiad competitions, CodeHS will offer curated coding curriculum and teaching resources needed to effectively guide students through computer science and coding challenges. In addition, Science Olympiad participants will use the CodeHS platform for training and practice, and in the competition rounds.
“For 41 years, Science Olympiad has provided cutting-edge content to the K-12 space by partnering with industry leaders like CodeHS,” said Jenny Kopach, CEO of Science Olympiad and president and CEO of the Science Olympiad USA Foundation. “Computer science and coding are central to the innovation economy, and we want Science Olympiad participants to be future-ready.”
By aligning their missions, CodeHS and Science Olympiad aim to create an enduring impact on STEM education nationwide. This partnership will empower educators and students alike, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.
The Science Olympiad practice courses are being curated over the summer of 2025. Teachers can find these courses in the CodeHS curriculum catalog with all our other courses in the Fall of 2025.
