A true embodiment of commitment to education, Dr. Goldson has dedicated 32 years to the Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) in Maryland, the 20th largest school district in the US. Appointed by President Joe Biden to the President’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and honored with the Women Who Mean Business Award, Dr. Goldson's contributions to education are widely recognized. She also serves on the Maryland State Board of Education.
With over 130,000 students under her leadership at PGCPS, Dr. Goldson's innovative approach elevated student achievement and expanded access to dual-enrollment college credit programs. She began her career as a math teacher, and ultimately rose through the ranks to become the Chief Executive Officer of the district.
