16.02.2022 --- MagniLearn, an AI EdTech Israeli start-up, announces new deal with BELT English.
With a 25% salary gap between those in Asia who speak English, and their counterparts who do not, Koreans have come to realize that empowering students with English skills increases their global employment opportunities. However, despite its importance, teaching English as a foreign language has yielded poor results in Korea.
To help remedy this situation, MagniLearn — a leading Israeli EdTech startup has signed a distribution agreement with BELT English, a leading Korean education partner with more than 10 years of experience in the Korean education industry.
By offering MagniLearn’s technology in this coming school year, Korean schools will be able to facilitate personalized, data-driven online English learning, which follows the international standard for language capabilities (CEFR).
The companies joined forces in July 2021 to add unique, customized features tailored to Korean students and integrate MagniLearn’s AI learning platform in three locations: Seoul, Bundang and Ulsan. As a result of this successful collaboration and new distribution agreement, hundreds of schools across the country will enjoy 100% personalized, AI-driven English learning to boost their performance and learning efficiency.
“MagniLearn’s deep AI-driven technology allows our schools to utilize cutting edge methodologies, learning insights and fully personalized lessons. MagniLearn’s algorithms enable the identification of students’ strengths and difficulties, and create exercises to challenge each individual student. Exercises are free-form based so that students are always active, composing their own answers and correcting their own mistakes,” said Danny Lee, CEO of BELT English in Korea. “We see that as students complete exercises, the AI engine learns more about the students and adapts the lessons accordingly. Integrating MagniLearn’s technology and BELT’s rich curriculum allows us to arm our teachers and parents with data-driven insights, both at the student and the class level, allowing them to precisely monitor the students’ learning progress, strengths and challenges,” he continued.
“With Korea’s charter for education based on digital technologies and cognitive science theories, this collaboration is a perfect fit,” said Lana Tockus, CEO of MagniLearn. “We use the latest cognitive and learning sciences to understand each student, and customize the next lesson precisely for that student’s needs.” According to Tockus, the Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI algorithms at the heart of MagniLearn restore the ability to teach one-on-one even during this pandemic. The user experience is extremely personalized; nothing is set in advance, and each exercise is generated in real-time to maximize learning efficiency.
“Korea is positioned as a country with significant potential for economic growth in upcoming years. However, from an education point of view, current online systems fail to provide an effective solution to Korea’s lagging English proficiency, which is one of the main barriers to economic growth. MagniLearn’s AI and NLP technologies will enhance Korean students’ knowledge of English, and thus aid economic development at both the individual and national levels,” said Hadar Abramovich, VP of Business & Strategy at MagniLearn, who is located in Seoul, South Korea.
MagniLearn emerged from the groundbreaking work of scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Natural Language Processing, Cognitive Science, and Education, led by Professor Ari Rappoport.
